After engaging in a multi-session program, Grafflin 4th-graders held a poetry celebration, when they presented their written work to family and friends.

For two weeks in November, Children Service Organization (CSO) at Roaring Brook ran a special collection. One of our wonderful night custodians, Oscar Cifuentes, brought a great project to CSO. He shared information about a group called Rayo de Luz (Ray of Light) that collects items for those in need in the mountains of Guatemala. CSO put up posters around the school and created announcements to share on our daily news channel. We collected dental supplies (toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.) and school supplies. Oscar's family paid the postage to mail out the items donated and Rayo de Luz will deliver them to those who need them. The CSO students learned a great deal from this project.
